It is almost that time of year… time to bundle up in Fall’s fabulous offerings! I am a sucker for anything leather (or really good faux leather) and leggings, so imagine my delight when I stumbled upon the perfect faux-leather leggings! The secret to SaAm Designs’ killer leg-lengthening look is the rouched hems. The additional volume on the ankle helps balance out the thigh (which, on the majority of us, tends to be a bit meatier than then rest of our gams) and creates a longer, leaner silhouette. The designer, Saam McBride, is a gorgeous model whose long legs go on for days, yet somehow she managed to create a legging that looks good on mere mortals as well! Am I the only one disappointed by the latest batch of designer collections at Target?! I used to set my alarm early as can be for the capsule collection launch to be the first savvy shopper in line for the latest couture-for-the-masses.  Missoni, I found the most off the beaten path Target to get my hands on that adorable bike…

Neiman Marcus collection, I lined up in the rain outside your Union Square storefront to stock up on Holiday gifts.  

But what has happened?! Jason Wu’s kittens playing with yarn t-shirts, Prabal Gurung’s ill cut (albeit gorgeous) floral pieces, now Phillip Lim’s tickity-tack cocktail dresses?! Come on, I know you’re not designing for SJP or Jennifer Lawrence here, but the rest of us deserve something semi-wearable! As a fashion loving mom of a toddler, I spend way too much time in Target and and happy to pay top dollar for something beautiful, but jeez Louise, a rayon high-low silver lamé star print dress?! Phew… okay I am done venting! Here’s to hoping Brit darling Peter Pilotto raises the bar with his February 9, 2014 collection!
